Turning, Falling

Just as spring smudged into summer, her edges blurring, colours blending, then defining, into something new, sharper, brighter in hue, in definition, after the pastels and softness that puddled the winter greys and umber, so Autumn, seasons ever turning, replaces late summer.

The dusty drab, worn out dark greens and washed out fading corn yellows are gradually replaced with sharply contrasting, almost shockingly bright, burnished guilt, polished copper and brass, side by side with the raw sienna the shade of the foxes coat and shining mahogany of a newly fallen conker. Colours to reflect the new lowering, sharp angle of the suns brassy brightness, the only softness coming from mauve dew drenched Michealmas Daisies amongst floating dove grey morning mists.

This season's falling, expiring, redundant leaves are like a new layer to our lives, nurturing the forest floor as our own experiences and achievements (seasons, celebrations, sabbats, life) are nurturing our own lives. All of us building a whole life time, year upon year of experiences and memories as we grow in knowledge and character, just as the harvest fruits and seeds are nurtured, fed and grow into new life beneath each fresh layer. Leaf upon leaf, experience upon experience, so the seasons turn, life moves on ever changing, evolving.
